Une question ?

Because purchasing departments are increasingly in demand: CSR, inflation, geopolitical tensions, new regulations... By planning your events in advance, you optimize your time, your travel/training budget, and ensure you are present at the truly strategic meetings for your organization.

We can distinguish several complementary formats:

  • Thelarge purchasing fairsto meet suppliers, start-ups, and solution providers
  • Thecongresses & conferencesto gain strategic insight (regulation, risks, geopolitics, CSR)
  • Thespecialized events(responsible purchasing, purchasing categories, specific sectors)
  • Thewebinars and online events, very practical for maintaining continuous monitoring at a lower cost
  • Thepurchasing communities and clubs, more confidential but valuable for peer feedback

Start by aligning your event choices with:

  1. Yourstrategic priorities for 2026(CSR, digitalization, cost reduction, reshoring, innovation, etc.)
  2. Theskills to strengthenin the team (negotiation, data management, responsible purchasing, supplier management…)
  3. Yourtravel/training budget
Next, identify a few “must-haves” (2 to 4 major events) and complement with lighter formats: webinars, clubs, local events.

A few useful reflexes:

  • Prepare alist of priority booths/exhibitors and conferencesin advance
  • Plan suppliermeetings on-site rather than waiting for random encountersSet
  • 2 or 3 concrete objectives(identify AI solutions, benchmark CSR practices, find 3 new potential suppliers, etc.)Plan a
  • concise reportto be shared with internal stakeholders (Management, Finance, CSR, departments) partagé avec les parties prenantes internes (Direction, Finance, RSE, métiers)

The 2026 purchasing events reflect a strong trend: CSR is becoming a central criterion in purchasing decisions. Structuring the evaluation of suppliers based on ESG criteria allows for compliance with the duty of vigilance and the CSRD, integrating objective criteria into tenders, and managing risks in the value chain.Discover how to evaluate your CSR suppliers →
